Anthony Anton, President and CEO of the WRA, presented El Gaucho Hospitality?s President and COO, Chad Mackay, with the Full Service Restaurant Operator of the Year Award.? Anton credited Chad?s leadership within the restaurant industry on key issues, including state tourism and liquor privatization.? He also acknowledged Chad for helping to forge stronger ties between the state?s restaurant and hotel industries, as well as being an involved partner in the industry?s legislative efforts and political advocacy in Olympia.

?Chad?s leadership at El Gaucho and within the industry emerges as an example for his peers throughout the state?s business community.? We are proud to honor his achievement,? Anton said.Image

The restaurant industry collectively is the largest private state employer with an average workforce of 201,000 employees.? Its 13,700 restaurants annually generate $13.2 billion for the state economy.

El Gaucho Hospitality was also named the Washington State Wine Commission?s Restaurant Group of the Year at their annual awards event earlier this week.? The judging is based on the creativity and glass pour on the wine list, promotional activities, frequency of Washington wine in-house promotions, wine service and staff training, and merchandising.? Judges are made up of peers in the restaurant, retail, and wine industry.

El Gaucho Hospitality has been privileged to receive past awards from the Washington State Wine Commission as well, including: Best Event featuring Washington Wine, for both the Legendary Swirl at El Gaucho Seattle, and Hootenanny at AQUA by El Gaucho (formerly Waterfront Seafood Grill); the 2010 Seattle Business Award for the Seattle and Bellevue locations; and the Restaurant of the Year for AQUA by El Gaucho (formerly Waterfront Seafood Grill).Image

?When we compiled everything for the Wine Commission award application, it was shocking to see the level of activity our restaurants generated over the past year,? said Chad.? ?I am proud of the successful and amazing events that our team, at every location, produced.? I can?t wait for 2013!?
